I obtained my doctoral degree in 2010 at the University of Verona supervised by Prof. Vittorio Murino.
From 2006 to 2010 I was member of the VIPS (Vision, Image Processing and Sound) group, at the University of Verona. In Winter 2008 and Summer 2009, I was a research intern in theMachine Learning and Applied Statistics and eScience groups at Microsoft Research (Redmond) under the supervision of Nebojsa Jojic. In the first part of 2010 I was a postdoc working under the Simbad Project, then I have moved to US to join Microsoft Research.
My research primarily involves the use of machine learning techniques and in particular probabilistic graphical models, to engineer solutions to problems in computer vision, computational biology and recently in text analysis.
Right now I am improving the Counting Grid model for Computer Vision applications as I am trying to correlate images with biological signals. I hope to get some very cool result soon!
